It seems obvious enough that the media tends to sexualize and dehumanize women in advertising, especially after watching films such as Killing Us Softly or Miss-Representation that make it even more blatant.
But what about men? How are they represented in media?
A blog by the name of 'Dumb Men' seems to think they've got it down. Their entire blog is focused around how the media portrays men as imbeciles or overly feminine. They back their claim with loads and loads of videos and images from various parts of the advertising world that coincide with their argument. And if the videos weren't self-explanatory enough the author also provides details as to why each video is problematic in the descriptions. Though the blog is still lacking in sustenance and seems very underdeveloped.
It seems that a reoccurring theme in these advertisements is the "emasculation" of men through humiliation for not meeting bro standards. A string of miller lite commercials show this very clearly, one of them featured on 'Dumb Men'.
In the above video the man is shown asking the bartender for a lite beer, not indicating which brand. When asked if he cared about how it tastes, he says he doesn't which then causes the bartender to sarcastically say "well when you start caring, just take off your skirt and I'll give you a miller lite." The guy looks around obviously caught off guard and looks down at his beer before walking out while wearing said skirt. A deep voiced announcer follows by exclaiming "Man Up."

The basic message in this appears to be "Men drink real beer. Drink this beer or you're a woman." So considering this video was made for men, by men, It seems like they're bringing themselves down by judging each other for not being "manly" enough, and pressuring each other to size up to societies expectations or face humiliation and ridicule.
TL;DR Don't ever judge yourself based on what you see around you
